Duxford Museum: Bristol Blenheim, ..13th July, 1987
Bristol Blenheim wreckage, returned back to Duxford.
After it`s crash at Denham air show, on the 21/6/87
An airworthy Blenheim was rebuilt from a scrapped Bolingbroke over a 12-year period, only to crash at an airshow at Denham within a month of completion in 1987.
aviation-safety.net/wikibase/75629
A replacement Bolingbroke Mk IVT was rebuilt to flying status over five years and painted to represent a Blenheim Mk IV in RAF wartime service. It began flying at air shows and exhibitions in the UK in May 1993. This aircraft crashed on landing at Duxford on 18 August 2003, but after extensive repair and conversion to the Mark I "Short nose" version by The Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC) at Duxford, was displayed to the public on 30 May 2014, and flew again, for 29 minutes, on 20 November 2014, following restoration at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire, England.

With 8 hrs. on type he shouldn't have been doing an airshow,,, go read the crash report, it was his incompetence that bent that plane not the plane's age.

Not Lightning but Binbrook related, Best story my old man told me was he was on black top one night, as most of you know Binbrook had its own weather and was notorious for heavy snow. Anyway they had a new WO one night, he told the crew on black top which way they should be clearing the snow, Even though they told the WO they would be blowing into the wind he would have none of it. To cut a long story short, The WO ended up eating a large piece of humble pie after they had to redo the whole runway again! There is another story as well on how the MT section had the station Commander on the floor in the rain with his face in a puddle (whilst on exercice)

Great memories of my childhood years at Binbrook, 82-87, wish i'd been a lot older to enjoy the golden years of a fantastic aircraft.

After such a painstaking effort to get this airframe airworthy and to restore it to such high standards one clown who was not familiar with this type turned it into a nightmare for all who had been involved in the restoration work! Shame that mediocre pilot was handling this aircraft…

One way trip to Russia during the cold war. All the fuel was used. If they were lucky enough to drop their payload at the designated target then the only outcome would be a friendly airfield within NATO - if still operational. The white Vulcans were painted to reflect a nuclear detonation flash. A beautiful example can be viewed at the Duxford Air Museum. Interesting fact - during the Falkland war the Vulcan had to mirror the onboard map to reflect a route to Canada then invert the map to Argentina. The Vulcan only had a map for Russia and her block countries.

Nice to see some motorway driving from that year on the M25 and then the M1, I can see that back then the blue signs were slightly different looking to the ones we've got now, and also before they changed into smart motorways, including having a bit of the M25 that is no longer concrete.

I love watching these videos for one reason, the cars of that particular time! You simply dont realise how much cars change over time, i never realised how many fords and vauxhalls were about back then! If its 1994 then the majority of motors will still be 80s cars with the 90s ones gradually becoming more popular with L and M reg plate ones been the brand new cars!

We have a piece of Black 6 at the Kent Battle of Britain Museum.. still it's wonderful she was restored and yes she was rebuilt to flying condition after the accident, but the chap who procured her for the restoration Russ Snadden it was decided not to renew the permit to fly due to her rarity as her registration was cancelled in 2000.. so she's a static now albeit in an airworthy condition.. she's now at Hendon..

With Japans surrender in August 1945. ....................................................................... It`s interesting to slow the video down. You get a better view of the shops, & people.
